See? This is what happens when you read too many magazines and decide to give yourself a new do.
Never, Never, EVER, cut your own bangs. Or mess with your blog.
I've been reading articles on blog design for a work project and decided to play with mine a bit. Not only can I not get it back to the way it was-apparently that design no longer exists on blogger-I can't even get the new template to display my title the right way.
And I have no one to blame but myself.
Wah.
On the bright side, Empress and BabyE said that I won their giveaway by being lucky contestant number Eight. They sure knows how to cheer a Chicken up. I'll be by, E&BE, and thank you so much! Chicksters, if you haven't been on their blog, Good Day, Regular People, you must visit. Please. You'll be happy you did.
In closing. It bears repeating. Don't cut your own bangs. And don't bite your friends. Just throwing that one in there.
Chicken out
Hi, Chicken.
ReplyDeleteUm... it's not that bad? No, really, it's unique. And interesting. :)
I'm sure you'll figure it out. Or find someone else who will. In the meantime, I look forward to the words.
Punk
Emo's have short fringes. Dye your hair black and pretend you're emo.
ReplyDeleteAnd hair grows but people tend to remember being bittne. Dont bite people. It's not manners. And they get pissed off.
I really need to check my comments before I hit post. But it's just too hard.
ReplyDeleteThank you, LP. YOu are a good friend. Unique is exactly what I was going for. Mini-wah. You made me feel better.
ReplyDeleteMrs. P. You are too right about the biting. I didn't really cut my hair, though. I just screwed up my blog and it reminded me of all the times I've tried to cut my own hair. Slow learner right here. And don't worry-I knew exactly what you meant:-)
Talk about slow learners ...obviously I need more coffee today, since I'm not real quick on the uptake. (That's what happens on Day 3 of being stuck home with a baby and a 19 year old -I;m going freaking insane )
ReplyDeleteThis is why Betty never . changes. anything......
ReplyDeleteMrs. P-I feel your pain. Stay sane for me. When you get out of the fifth circle, I'll be here. In the sixth.
ReplyDeleteBB-Words to live by.
Chicken! Can't you find your old blog style in the old version of blogger? Sometimes they just hide there. I don't think the new look is bad. I promise!
ReplyDeleteI used to hack away at my bangs all of the time with reckless abandon, now I just transfer that to my blog. Obviously I am not smart, because I often have regrets with messing with my blog. If I could go back to HS I would take all of those computer classes instead of taking French.
ReplyDeleteHi Noelle-I thought of that but then wasn't sure how I would integrate it so that I do not lose anything. I'll have to do a little bit more research, I guess. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteGND-me too!
I used to be pretty cavalier about chopping my hair - not myself, but having others do it.
ReplyDeleteI can't do it anymore. No way. It's too horrifying.
Changing my blog scares me way more that cutting my bangs. Bangs grow back.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for the blog headache. So sorry. But congrats on winning at the Empress!!!
Thanks Ash. I gave up on bangs because I couldn't resist cutting them. I'll have to learn some tactics for dealing with blog angst.
ReplyDeletei cut my own bangs once...i thought they looked pretty good until my friend asked me who attacked my face with the scissors. ouch.
ReplyDeleteI read your post, had a lot of witty remarks to make, and it all went straight out the window as soon as I read the "Don't bite your friends" part. Because that is definitely my favorite Yo Gabba Gabba song, and it definitely is stuck in my head now. Thanks a lot, Chicken. I need more Yo Gabba Gabba in my life like I need a hole in the head...
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Morgan-Ouch is right. That is either a very, very good friend, whose sarcasm we accept as just part of the package or not a friend at all!
ReplyDeleteMX3. I know. I'm sorry! But if I have to have Yo Gabba on my mind, why not all of us. Seems only fair to share.
Chicken, Is that right? I messed with my blog, but I don't know what I did. It went haywire. So, I changed templates. No luck. Then, yesterday all the paragraphs went away, and I had one looooonnnng post. It took me hours today along with lots of chocolate brownie mix (just plain from box) to get that problem straightened out. The trouble is, I don't even know where I went wrong! Oh, I have four Rhode Island Reds. I love my hens and the eggs they lay.It is wonderful to have found this blog!
ReplyDeleteHi PrPa-thank you for visiting. Yeah. Templates. Yikes. But at least you had brownie mix! Sort of like magic dust for the brain.
ReplyDeleteYour blog could be decorated in chicken manure and you would still make me laugh. And I'd rather be bitten than listen to that damn song one more time.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Chicken! Throw a truffle my way, would you? Also, don't have your father cut your bangs. My 7-year-old self is still scarred.
